Guar Gum
Guar gum is a natural thickening, stabilizing, and emulsifying agent derived from the seeds of the guar plant (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba), commonly grown in India and Pakistan. It appears as a fine, off-white powder and is widely used in the food industry to improve texture and shelf life in products such as ice cream, sauces, gluten-free baked goods, and dairy alternatives. Guar gum is highly effective even in small amounts due to its strong water-binding capacity, helping to thicken and stabilize mixtures without altering flavor. Beyond food, it’s also used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and industrial applications for its binding and viscosity-enhancing properties.
